Midnight Mask

The other night I couldn’t sleep, so I decided to get up and tweeze my eyebrows. Not a good idea! Your focus isn’t 100%, lighting is bad because it isn’t natural light (which is the best to work with) and your pores aren’t prepared. Note to self, tweeze after you shower! Your pores are softened from the steam and it will allow the hairs to extract easier and with less pain.

So there I am sitting in front of the mirror and to stop myself from making a tweezing mistake, I decided to venture off into my new bathroom. I have shelves stocked of skin care products that I have been slowly testing out. I always like to give a skincare line a two week trial before I decide if I think it’s worth talking about. Unless I get an instant reaction, then it’s given away to friends and family. Just because it didn’t work for me doesn’t mean it’s not good.

Back to my story, I was going through my collection of products and decided to try out a mask. I have been breaking out lately and wanted something that would dry up those pesky blemishes. I had just moved into a new apartment and have been neglecting my skin as well as stressing out over the numerous boxes scattered around me. I hate packing and unpacking!!! Show me a person that does and I will show you a liar. The good thing about it is you are forced to get organized. I not only cleaned up my life, but my skin as well!

I had recently received Proactiv, a product I had used two years ago, and always loved the results it gave me. Being a skincare advisor I have to try out other products and I’m constantly being introduced to the latest and greatest potions and lotions. This might also be why I was breaking out! Well, I came across their Refining Mask and gave it a whirl. I forgot how incredible this stuff is! It literally felt like the texture of my skin was enhanced. Before I went back to bed I used the mask as a spot treatment on my blemishes. The next morning they were dried up like little scabs, sort of resembling beauty marks. But by the time I was ready to apply my make-up, two of them had fallen off and left no marks. By dinner time that evening, I was pimple free! I couldn’t believe it. Now I’m not afraid to try out other products because I know if something occurs, I have my secret weapon ready to attack any impurities that may come my way. You gotta try Proactiv! This is an oldie but a goodie for me and I had to share it with all of you.
If you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, go to www.proactiv.com. I promise you won’t regret it.

Preparing For My Big Day

Welcome to my first official blog! I write for a beauty website called, MyBBF.com and have been blogging on their site for a few months. My older sister has a blog on blogspot called, Preppy Mama, and she has inspired me to create my very own blog. I'm an Esthetician and Make Up Artist residing in Brooklyn, NY. I met the man of my dreams and am now planning for the BIG DAY. We are getting married in October of this year, so a Fall Wedding is the main thing on my mind lately. I'm excited and overwhelmed! I thought I would enjoy this process more. I've been dreaming about being a bride since I was a little girl, but making decisions on favors, flowers, decorating and dresses is starting to wear me out. Since it is a Fall Wedding, I am obsessing over pumpkins! I plan on carving out our initials or monogram in a huge pumpkin for the wedding. I love everything monogrammed and want to tie that into the wedding, without overdoing it. Here are a few pictures of things that I just love for a fall wedding.

I love this pumpkin carving, but was also thinking of maybe just painting numbers on pumpkins for each table.

Here is another way to use pumpkins for a table decoration. I love the white pumpkins!!!

If you know of any websites or blogs that would go hand-in-hand with my wedding ideas, then please leave me a comment. I'm coming up to my 6 month mark and I don't want to fall behind on this. Next up, my Bridesmaid Dresses! I've already bought my dress, now it's time to get theirs. I'm keeping my wedding party very small and simple. I'm having my older sister as my Matron of Honor, my little sister as my Maid of Honor and my best friend as the Bridesmaid. I desperately want to get them J Crew dresses, but I have to wait for the Fall line to come out. Meanwhile, I'm searching other ideas in case we can't wait that long.

Love, Love!
